About Lasting Impression Horsemanship | Horse Trainer in Cass City, MI

A Trainer Who Understands Horses — Inside and Out
Janelle’s background in veterinary medicine is a unique asset in her training program. With 13 years of experience as a licensed veterinary technician, she brings an expert eye to the health, soundness, and care of every horse she works with. If a horse ever needs something, it’s reassuring to know that they’re in the hands of someone who not only notices the details — but knows what to do.
Throughout her veterinary career, Janelle remained deeply passionate about horses. She spent her free time training, riding, and showing her own horses competitively in disciplines like Hunter Under Saddle, Western Pleasure, Showmanship, and Lunge Line — something she still enjoys and specializes in today.
Blending Natural Horsemanship with Show Ring Precision
About 15 years ago, Janelle was introduced to natural horsemanship, and it instantly changed the way she approached training. From that moment on, she became a firm believer in the power of psychology-based horsemanship — and the results have only reinforced her conviction.
Natural horsemanship has given Janelle the ability to truly communicate with horses — to build willing partnerships based on trust, leadership, and respect. It has also improved her understanding of biomechanics and collection, allowing her to create smoother, more balanced horses that are not only safer to ride but also more successful in the show pen.
Over the years, she noticed that many show horses have gaps in their training, particularly when it comes to manners and respect on the ground. By integrating natural horsemanship into her program, Janelle has been able to fill in those holes, producing well-mannered, responsive, and respectful horses that progress quickly — and stay soft, confident, and reliable.
